Screening can help to find breast cancers early when they are too small to see or feel. These tiny breast cancers are usually easier to treat than larger ones. Breast screening is offered every 3 years to women aged between 50 yrs and 70yrs. You can request screening over the age of 70yrs but you won't automatically be invited. For further information on screening look at https://www.cancerresearchuk.org/about-cancer/breast-cancer/getting-diagnosed/screening/breast-screening. Remember to check your breasts regularly for any lumps, rash, discharge, dimpling or change in size or shape and contact the surgery for an appointment if you are concerned.
